India losing out on environment.

In the 21st century, one of the biggest problems concerning with the world would be the air pollution. Due to the non-judicious and reckless use of the resources and various other different things, today the world is confronting the biggest disaster pertaining to environment.

Human beings can never forgo the environment because environment is indeed what human beings are made up of and to all those who believe that we must negligible engender our process on the grave of environment, here is a fresh novel striking blow from the World Bank.

According to the new reports, air pollution only caused us a whopping 8.5% of the whole Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the year 2013 and the global economy incurred a loss of $5.11 trillions.

The diseases associated with the air pollution led to lowering of labor workforce in India and that too primarily in the working age population. India was afflicted with the highest loss in terms of the labour output caused by the air pollution. In 2013, India's labour losses due to air pollution stood at about $55.39 billion or about 0.84 percent of its whole GDP. After India, People's Republic of China faced a whopping loss of $44.57 billion accounting for almost 0.28% of its whole GDP.

Going with the global trend, an estimated 5.5 million lives were lost in the year 2013. India itself saw 1.4 million deaths due to the air pollution encompassing the working age population as well as the children.

In terms of welfare losses also, India has to take up a huge blow. India ranked second highest in the world, only after China, at about $505.1 billion or about 7.67 per cent of the GDP in 2013.

These horrendous trends do portray the need for today. Now is the time to decide whether we want to erect hollow infrastructure on the grave of our environment or want to develop an ever-lasting relationship with the nature. If we don't choose our preferences today, we would perish for forever in oblivion.

The choice remains yours.
