Battleground of Maharashtra and Haryana

Again the whole nation has plunged itself into the election atmosphere filled with blames from one party to another and many other things but certainly these elections amount too much and are capable of either strengthening the current government or of enervating its roots completely.

The states of Maharashtra and Haryana are one of the most remarkable and significant states of the nation. Maharashtra is the nation’s economic hub housing country’s biggest corporate companies while on the other hand, Haryana is nation’s one of the biggest agriculture hub producing deluge of much needed crops for the nation and hence these two states are also key players in the overall national development.

These elections are going to be tough check ground for both the main national parties BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party) and INC (Indian National Congress) because these elections are the first elections after the Lok Sabha General election. The victorious BJP would try to maintain its Modi wave in these elections while on the other hand the congress which was wiped out in the recently concluded general elections would try to maintain that Modi wave has been demolished and that Congress is going to recover and after some shocks in the by elections for BJP these elections are going to be more amazing and exciting than ever.

One more important thing is that major alliances have also been jettisoned like that the 15 year old alliance between Congress and NCP and 25 year old alliance between BJP and Shiv Sena. This has also added fuel to fire by making the competition more polarized thereby raising the suspicion of formation of new bonds.
It would not be a spurious thing to mention here that these state elections are type of referendum for the new government which would also decide the current scenario of the Modi wave and Mr. Narendra Modi, the current Prime Minister of the nation is also well aware of this fact and that’s why he has commenced campaigning himself in these states and is expected to address around 20 rallies in Maharashtra alone and this also adds weight to the whole election.
Watching all these things the Congress party also jumped to work and this time with the old formula of Sonia Gandhi. This time the whole Congress party wants to clinch the election in order to refute the existence of Modi Wave and that’s why rather than making Rahul Gandhi its chief campaigner, Sonia Gandhi has taken the work.
But one thing that can prove fatal for both these national parties is that both the parties have actually no state leader on which people could bank on. A lack of state leadership can be very much harmful for both BJP and Congress and can lead to slipping of votes to the regional or state parties contesting the election.

But truly these elections would be amazing and would have a huge say in arbitrating whether the Modi government still has that enthusiasm or whether the zest has vanished.
