Indian judicial system- a shame.

It is not a latent fact to the world that India is developing by leaps and bounds day by day. Contemporarily it is one of the world’s greatest economies and also carries the attribute of being one of the world’s most powerful countries of the world which is expected to trounce many other countries in becoming the most favoured nation of the world.
But as development approaches, we need to take some steps too in order to propel more development and facilitate the current processes and a robust judiciary system is a must for that. If we talk about Indian democracy then there are mainly three pillars of Indian democracy namely legislative, executive and judiciary and considering this it is an obvious fact that we at any cost can never even dare to ignore the judicial system of the nation. But unfortunately, due to reluctance to revamp and mend the judicial system by the previous law makers, it would not be a wrong thing to quote that despite of being one of the world’s biggest nations we carry the burden of one of the world’s most laggard judicial system.
Someone once rightly quoted that “Justice delayed is justice denied.” And if we follow that quotation in our own country India then you would find out that there have been so much delays in this judicial system that as per the quote, no person has even got justice in Indian courts. Indian judiciary system continues to be of very low quality today. Today more than 30 million cases are pending in front of the Indian courts and you would be amused to find out that most of these cases are even not valid ones.
Let’s assume a case that a son can file against his father only, but in Indian courts you are sure to find out that the same case has been filed by the son against his sister but the case still takes more than 20 years to be dismissed.
The other thing is that just due to such procrastination shown by the whole system, a lot of people were convicted for crimes which they never committed. For example in new Delhi, a boy names Shamsuddin Fakruddin  was made to tolerate a sentence of 1 year in Tihar jail without having his crime proved and at last after one year the judged officially sentenced him to a three month jail. The boy was made to live in the second hell (Tihar Jail) for one year just for such a simple crime and without having it proved. Imaging what would happen to that boy afterwards. Wouldn’t he loathe this world? He can even become a serial killer or get easily get in bad company and this proves that such problems take place in India just because of this laggard judicial system.
On one hand we come to watch that people who have done nothing are convicted for so many years while on the other hand we come to see people who have their guilt proved, but still continue to roam freely just because of corrupt judges and officials. According to a research more than 20% of the judges in India are corrupt.
As I recently mentioned that there is a back log of 30 million cases in the whole nation but you would be astonished to know that India is having only 13 judges to handle cases of 1 million people while on the other hand UK has 51 judges to execute the same work and US has 125 judges to perform the same duty. This fact truly proves that the policies adopted by the previous government have completely weaken the whole of the judiciary system making it a complete fiasco due to which thousands of people are made to bear the brunt of crimes which they have never committed while those who continue to be at fault continue to roam freely.
Today the Indian judicial system is so much fragile that it continues to wreak havoc on thousands of life who are engaged in a case. A simple case which can be decided on even the first hearing takes around 15 to 20 years to be decided and that too at the lower level and this at last breeds the seeds of animosity among the people and also the distrust which keeps them from believing in the system, the government and the authorities.

According to a report, if we ameliorate the Indian judicial system Indian GDP would get to watch a 2% increase per annum thus fuelling the Indian story of development. Therefore today we need to change and overhaul the whole of the Indian judicial system in order to become a developed country.
